The excitement was electric as children entered the hall this morning. Everyone was in disguise! So many book characters in one room. A big thanks to parents who have helped to make the wonderful costumes.
David Bedford, a local author, introduced himself and some of the many books he has written across the age range. He talked about the habits of an author, referring to Roald Dahl’s big armchair. David shared how he gets his ideas such as going for a walk. On one walk he heard the noise of a donkey and wondered why he was braying. Was he hungry? Was he wanting attention? Was he scared? Was he laughing?
Then David read his story Who’s Laughing? The children joined in with the animal noises.
