News From Year 6

We are at the end of week 2 and Year 6 have settled in well.

They have been given their homework to complete by Wednesday 21st September.

Please check homework diaries and sign to say you have seen it each week. By doing this the children are rewarded!

As part of their homework this week they are researching into various aspects of WW1. They are making notes in their homework books to help give them a good start with this.

Inside their homework diaries is a letter for you to read about encouraging your child as a year 6.

We have just completed two weeks of place value and negative numbers. Our next maths topic, up until half term, is number based, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Please encourage your child to improve their times table understanding at every opportunity.

Next Friday is our McMillan Coffee Morning, a week earlier than the national day. Please could you contribute cakes that we are able to sell on the day. This is always a very successful occasion raising over £400 each year!

Many thanks

Mrs Budgett
