Y4 have been a super group today. We looked at a piece of writing called ‘Night Terrors in Cairo’ which they read in pairs and then we discussed characters, plot, the writer’s choice of language and their opinions of the text. The class were agog when they discovered it was written by a 12 year old. They then write the conclusion to the story as it had ended with the curator disappearing into a curtain of darkness….
After lunch, in threes, they had to make a tall and freestanding structure out of 20 pieces of spaghetti, a marshmallow and a metre of both string and masking tape. Their cooperation was good and 7 put of the 9 groups were able to get them to stand freely. Future engineers in the making.
