Life saving skills!

Year Six were delighted to be visited by Gary from fleximed yesterday. He taught us a whole range of first aid procedures. We met Gary’s helpers, flat Eric and flat Stan. Together, they helped us learn what to do if someone stops breathing and we all had a go at compression only CPR.

We used Eric and Stan to practise what to do if someone is choking and we now know how to deal with nose bleeds, large cuts and burns.

Several members of the class have expressed an interest in medicine as a career choice in the future; paramedics, vets, doctors, nurses and pharmacists were all mentioned!

Everyone taking part passed with flying colours and have been awarded their “Junior First Aid Awareness Course” certificate. Well done!
