Remembrance with Year 4

This week we have been thinking about the centenary of Armistice day. The children have read the poem In Flanders Field and one about War Girls. Today we learnt about an 11 year old boy called Reginald Cooper who went to work in a cotton mill because most of their workers had to go to war. This afternoon the children created amazing pictures reflecting on Remembrance.

Yesterday we went to All Saints church and learnt about local people who managed to survive the war. We found out how their lives changed when they returned as well as looking at the amazing display of poppies inside and outside the church. It is well worth a look!
