This half term in RE the children used their knowledge of evolution theory and natural selection gained in science last half term and applied it to consider the question – science and creation: complementary or conflicting? Last Wednesday, the children had many questions to put to our visitor, Matthew Pickhaver, from Biblical Creation Trust who is both a scientist and a Christian who believes that God created the world. Matthew used slides to answer the questions the children had written and sent to him in advance and a few more that popped up during the afternoon. Year 6 listened really well. Some Year  6 have told me of how this topic has really made them think and reflect. This is welcome feedback as we aim to encourage our children to be open minded and  critical thinkers.
