Year 1 visit the Museum of Norwich

On Wednesday 9th November Year 1 had a fantastic trip to the Museum of Norwich.  They met the Toymaker and who asked Year 1 to assist with sorting the toys into groups based on their materials or age.  The children loved exploring the old toys (including playing with them) and identifying their properties.

Next they met the Toymakers’ assistant who showed the children lots of different moving toys.  She then helped Year 1 to make their own spinning toy. It was very difficult to make the toys spin – we all tried our best!

After lunch we had chance to explore the museum and some of us followed a trail of clues. We had lots of fun exploring the history of Norwich through interactive displays. Some of the class found medals and an evacuee’s suitcase that linked to our learning about Remembrance.

Year 1 would like to say a huge thank you to the adults that accompanied us on our trip and also to the Museum of Norwich for a fantastic day!

Miss Flower was very proud of all of Year 1 – they were eager to share their knowledge about toys and represented Stibbard fantastically!
