Year Six have been learning about the song ‘Happy’ by Pharrell Williams. It is a feelgood pop song with a soul influence, which encourages the listener to clap along and see the ‘happy’ side of life- even when things aren’t always going our way!
During this unit of work, we have asked ourselves what makes us feel happy and studied a range of other songs with a ‘happy’ feel. Singing them is great for our mental health and wellbeing. We have particularly enjoyed ‘Top of the World’ by The Carpenters, ‘Don’t Worry, Be Happy’ by Bobby McFerrin and ‘Walking on Sunshine’ by Katrina and the Waves; they really lift our spirits.
Year Six sing the song ‘Happy’ with such enthusiasm and can accompany their singing with chime bars and glockenspiels. Well done Year Six.
