Year 6 led the Remembrance Service for Stibbard All Saints this morning with the support of Revd Nicholas Varnon. The children performed a class recital of ‘In Flanders Fields’ by John McCrae followed by other poems and words of remembrance. The whole school was led down to the memorial by traditional bagpipes (performed by our guest of honour, Jacob Millin) to read out the names of those who fell during the war and observe the two minute silence to mark the armistice. Year 6 represented the school admirably throughout their church service.
We are but children small,
We are too little to do it all,
Children you may do your part,
Love each other is how your start.
Play without fighting.
Share your games and toys.
Be kind and thoughtful
