A fiery Welly Day in Reception

Mrs Cairns has been promising a fire for Reception class and they have been patiently waiting for some time!  The children demonstrated excellent understanding of how to stay safe around the fire and took great care when toasting their marshmallows.

Art Exhibition

Year 2 ended their Sculpture unit by holding an Art Exhibition. The children had worked hard exploring architecture this half term and then created their own buildings thinking carefully about the purpose and design of the building. They did a marvellous job at speaking about their designs using appropriate vocabulary and the visiting classes asked some thought provoking questions. It was such a lovely way to end the half-term.

Well Done Year 2.

Welly Day in Reception

Reception Class really embraced the chance to be in our Welly Day Area today.  They worked together beautifully and even made their own hot chocolate drinks to enjoy.

Icy Fun

After our delicious Christmas meal the whole school went on to the field to enjoy the ice. Mrs Cairns bought an iPad out so that the children could take pictures of the beautiful sights. The children took some wonderful pictures.

Many thanks to the pond party!

We may have had a soggy start to our Sunday morning, but it certainly didn’t dampen the spirits.  A big thank you to all of the parents, children and the FACT team who turned up to help us to show some love to our amazing school pond.  Over the last few years the pond had become very overgrown which meant that we were unable to use it as we would like with our pupils.  FACT (Fakenham Area Conservation Trust) worked tirelessly to create space for the wildlife to thrive.  Families and staff tackled the overgrowth around the site, and we have been left with a beautiful space to share with our children.  A huge thank you, especially to the children who turned up and showed an awesome work ethic!  We will be inviting parents back in the near future so watch this space. There is likely to be a Christmas theme to the warming snacks!

All Saints Stibbard Remembrance Service

The weather was fine and dry as we completed our Remembrance Service around the Memorial to hear the names of the servicemen who sacrificed their lives in the World Wars. The children were so still as we engaged in the two minutes silence at 11 am. They sat beautifully in the church service beforehand. We are so proud of them.

Yummy, scrummy, amazing taste of summer created by Reception class

Reception class have been loving creating their own drinks with Mrs Cairns and today managed to create a taste of sunshine on a rainy afternoon!

The children had some wonderful ideas about how to get the juice out of the fruit and into their bowls.  We were all so impressed by the beautiful colour of the juice, and it tasted incredible too!

Using Tools in Reception

Mrs Cairns was so impressed to see how responsibly the reception children were able to use tools today. They alerted others by shouting out to let everyone know that they had hammers in their hands, and wore safety goggles to protect their eyes. It was great fun hammering nails into the pumpkins to make holey designs!
