Amazing science in year 3!

The year 3 children were amazing scientists this afternoon: asking questions, measuring accurately and finding out answers. They have discovered that the further away an object is from the light source, the smaller it’s shadow becomes! 

What else do you think might make a difference to the size of a shadow?

Year 3 have started to learn about perimeters and how we measure them. We’ve already discovered that a perimeter is the distance around the edge of something and that we need to use appropriate units of measurement.  We’ve also discovered that straight lines are easier to measure than curved.
