Year 1
Welcome to the Year 1 Class Page!
Elm Class have a inviting classroom that is well resourced and offers a safe, exciting and inspiring learning environment. Our classroom is arranged to encourage the children to access resources, working walls and sound mats independently to scaffold and support their own learning. We are supported in our learning by Miss Flower and our 2 Teaching assistants: Mrs Hobbs and Mrs Howe-Ward. In Elm Class the children enjoy working through collaboration and practical activities where possible. We encourage Year 1 to learn from their mistakes and develop the skills to work independently, take responsibility for their own learning and persevere even when finding the learning challenging.
We love reading and read every chance we get; the classroom reflects this with a variety of books linked to each term’s topic.

KS1 Cross Country
Today 16 Children from Year 1 and 2 attended the KS1 Cross Country competition at Langley Prep School. The children represented our school fantastically, showing excellent sportsmanship and our school values throughout. Welly Day in Autumn
Year 1 have loved our Welly Day sessions. The sessions have been based around the children’s interests and requests.
